We've had our share and our last one we were very fortunate with the help of Vicks Vapor Rub to graft him onto another ewe. Fortunately for that lamb, he got colostrum from his mother before she prolapsed her uterus and the start of her intestines before she had to be put down. And, the mother we had grafted him onto had lost her lamb less than 48 hours earlier and had a very full milk bag. Last night when we lifted him out of the pen to put in his ear tag and to dock his tail, his new mother went berserk until we gave him back. He is definitely hers! If you can do this, instead of bottle feeding, I would highly recommend it.
There are lots of problems, and rewards, raising a lamb off its dam. This blog has LOTS of information on raising orphans.
