April 13 and we still have snow!!

And when I was hanging up sheep coats to dry, it was snowing again!! )o:

There is still a lot of snow in front of the house, not including all that came off the roof.

The septic tank and the leach field always show up first.

Looking at our front yard. There is still one foot of snow in the yards. That doesn't include the snow banks from plowing.

Frosted fleeces

This is an entire Columbia/Romney ewe fleece. It was far too nice and crimpy to be sent off to be made into sock yarn. So I dyed it. I used the coldwater dye method with Urea, vinegar, water and dye. But, I don't think it was quite warm enough in the basement, even with the coal stove, for it to take well. So, the teal and the purple in the middle were 'finished off' on the stove. The others had no dye left, only these two did.
It was 20 degrees here this morning, causing the fleece to appear 'frosted'. (o;
I may be selling this fleece.............but I am not sure yet. Need to come up with a price.

Hand injury-week 3

I can do almost everything I could before my injury now. It is healing up nicely. I still can not reach for things, nor bend my middle finger back, and the tip is still numb........but, all and all, it is doing amazing well. Yeah!!

First we get a couple of inches of snow........then, while I was out at noon taking pictures, it starts to rain. In New England, if you don't like the weather, wait a couple of minutes and it will change.
