April 13 and we still have snow!!

And when I was hanging up sheep coats to dry, it was snowing again!! )o:

There is still a lot of snow in front of the house, not including all that came off the roof.

The septic tank and the leach field always show up first.

Looking at our front yard. There is still one foot of snow in the yards. That doesn't include the snow banks from plowing.

Lamb central.

Monster manure pile awaiting the snow to disappear in the back pasture.
My lilies are coming up under the snow, beside the front deck.

The daffodils and chives are coming up.
Looking at the herb garden next to the barn driveway and where my tomatoes and squash were last year. We've got a lot of branches to pick up.

More random sheep shots

Are you going to feed us? Horatio is gettin huge!!
Aren't we so cute? I can balance hay on my nose and my sibling can smile.
Aunt Friendly 'guarding' the sleeping lambs.

Can you see me hiding in here? Oops, I've been spotted.

Got milk?

Too cute!!

Mom looks like she is telling him to "Clean off your mouth!"

Frosted fleeces

This is an entire Columbia/Romney ewe fleece. It was far too nice and crimpy to be sent off to be made into sock yarn. So I dyed it. I used the coldwater dye method with Urea, vinegar, water and dye. But, I don't think it was quite warm enough in the basement, even with the coal stove, for it to take well. So, the teal and the purple in the middle were 'finished off' on the stove. The others had no dye left, only these two did.
It was 20 degrees here this morning, causing the fleece to appear 'frosted'. (o;
I may be selling this fleece.............but I am not sure yet. Need to come up with a price.

Hand injury-week 3

I can do almost everything I could before my injury now. It is healing up nicely. I still can not reach for things, nor bend my middle finger back, and the tip is still numb........but, all and all, it is doing amazing well. Yeah!!

Full creep feeder. And not all the lambs are in the barn in this picture.
First we get a couple of inches of snow........then, while I was out at noon taking pictures, it starts to rain. In New England, if you don't like the weather, wait a couple of minutes and it will change.

Second snowiest winter in NH

since 1873-4. As of last week we were 6.5" shy of the record. Today is the 3rd day that it has snowed since they announced that... I think God is trying to break that record. (o;

My hand 2 weeks after surgery

is healing rather nicely. The white is dead skin that isn't ready to be sloughed off yet. )o;
I will just need to be a little more aggressive with the wash cloth. (o:
But the hole is closing up well. I am done with the antibiotics, finally!! I have no real feeling in my middle finger from the cut up, but he (Dr. Mollano) said that is because they had to move a couple of nerves to get to the tendon 'tunnel'. So, that aggravated it and the finger is still swollen. In time the feeling will come back. In the meantime typing is weird.....as are other things... Yes, it is a little black and blue. I hit it with something.......won't go there. )o:

Now that you've had your weekly gross out...Have a great April Fools!! (I wish that was want this was.) Just be glad I did not put the eye ball in the palm that I considered..............

Off to see if I can get some random lamb shots.
