Of rain, sun, tadpoles,and death
We've had days and days and days of rain here in NH. The article before this posting tells how much rain we've had. For some reason the frogs thought it was safe to have their tadpoles in the puddle. But, the puddle never got any deeper because it had a run off area.
Then, we had 4 1/2 days of beautiful sunny weather and the puddles and the seasonal creek/brook all dried up. Unfortunately, that meant the tadpoles died. The black spots in the mud in the bottom picture are the tadpoles. Obviously the birds enjoyed the snack.
