When the weather is not good to man or beast...

Yesterday we got rain, sleet and snow. And this is what is looks like in the barnyard the next day...

The ice crust is strong enough for Cornelius to walk on. Which might be cute, but...

This is the fence next to the barn. The fence is 4'+ tall. This is from the snow coming off the roof.

The unbred ewes go out first. After I broke through the snow... They get hay, and then I go back in and give the bred ewes their morning ration of grain.

Looking out the barn door at the girls, and over at the boys. Notice the green gate? The snow got deep enough that John, the escaping Romney from our trip south in May, jumped it to get in with the girls at feeding time. He thought he might get fed early. So, the green gate was place on top of the wooden gate.

These show how thick the ice crust is, and me trying to break in up.
The right side picture shows where the boys were shoveled out. 1-So that they would go out. And 2-So that they won't walk over the fence and go visit the girls.......

My poor sheep. This stuff is rough on their feet and ankles.

A parting shot of the gate buried under the snow next to the boy's door and looking back at Goliath.
