Shearing is finished!!

Monday & Tuesday, after work, Jerry sheared what he could. Wednesday, he finished.
18 ewes have been sheared. 16 look to be definitely bred. Queen Victoria is starting to bag up... There could be lambs pictures here any day...............
I am going to start skirting, taking pictures, bagging/tagging, and weighing today, Thursday.

There appears to be a lot more room in the barn.
At the right, Grace & Kennedy watch the shearing and wondering where dinner is....

Fluffy. Look at her neck. That is where the coat ends and where all the garbage collects. Imagine that VM in this fine fleece.....................

Look at that crimp!!

beatiful fluffy stuff! and a beautiful blog, I might add...though I am sure I never want to live in NH now - as gorgeous as the snow looks, I know what it feels like. Brrrrrr.
We lived in Colorado for ten years - nice, but snow.
We moved to SC - and bought 5 sheep (Tunis, Cotswold and two X's of that).
They are cuties - though we have yet to master shearing them ourselves. We did try the first year - took all of 1 1/2 hours for each sheep ;o)
you can see them (usually around 3pm est) on our sheepcam at seesheep.com.
Keep up the good blog - I love it!
